CONTROL PANEL
VEGAN BUSINESS OWNERS & ENTREPRENEURS SYDNEY GROUP:

Networking & Professional Development Event

WITH GUEST SPEAKER: VANESSA CULLEN
(Plus Angie Stephenson from Funky Pies)

18 August, 2016: 6pm to 8.30pm
Venue: SMSA, 280 Pitt St, Sydney CBD

Do any of the following apply to you?

  • You identify as an ethical vegan and run your own business of any kind (selling products or services, including solo practitioner, coach or consultant)

  • You run a business on vegan principles, even if you’re not (yet) personally vegan

  • You don’t yet run your own business, but are seriously interested in doing so and running it on vegan principles

  • You’re a business owner and entrepreneur who wants to learn about and become part of the growing global vegan business revolution that’s happening right now

  • You’re a mission-driven entrepreneur and changemaker who understands the importance of business as activism and are either vegan or open to embracing vegan living

If so:

This event is for you!

We’re a group of vegan business owners and entrepreneurs who are exploring the idea of regular get-togethers to connect, share intel and help each other succeed.

We plan a mix of events, including roundtable-like discussions, informal meet and greets such as dinners (at a vegan eatery of course!) and educational meetings featuring guest presenters with expertise on a particular business topic.

Our first event was a great success, so we're holding another:

Grow Your Vegan Business

Come along and connect with with awesome like-minded entrepreneurs who are excited to be part of the vegan business revolution, while picking up tips on:

  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Branding
  • PR
  • And more

PLUS:

ASK THE ENTREPRENEUR

During the evening, we'll have a Q&A with an existing vegan business owner where we'll learn about their business journey.

They'll share their challenges and how they overcame them in a Q&A with Katrina Fox.

Then you'll have the opportunity to ask them questions.

Our entrepreneur in the spotlight for this event is Angie Stephenson from Funky Pies.

Angie spent many years as both a volunteer and in paid positions at Animal Liberation NSW before launching Funky Pies at the Cruelty Free Festival in 2008.

In April 2009, she opened the Funky Pies cafe in Bondi and her renowned products are now available in around 200 outlets across Australia.

The award-winning business places people, animals and planet front and centre: the pies are all vegan, staff uniforms are made in sweatshop-free environments, the coffee is organic and fair trade, all juices are organic and all takeaway packaging is bio-degradable.

AND...

  • Allan Rodd of Uncle Harry's is our food sponsor for the evening. We'll be treated to some delicious bite-sized Natraburger treats plus dipping sauces. Allan's innovative plant-based (all-vegan) veggie burgers are created with 100% Australian vegetables and grains, but no traditional soy or lentils.

BOOK YOUR TICKETS NOW!

We've started this group to provide a space for existing and aspiring vegan business owners and entrepreneurs to come together and help each other succeed.

To make events like this run smoothly, we need to know the level of interest as soon as possible, so we can book a suitable venue.

So ... here's a little request:

Will you make a commitment to yourself and your business to attend and book your ticket now, rather than at the last minute?

TALK: BUSINESS STRATEGY & DESIGN THINKING

How identifying market and vision, specificity, planning, brand identity, consistency, physical presence, customer experience, marketing and operations all need to tell one clear story based upon market research and market desire - NOT based upon the tastes/interests/desires of the business owner acting blindly and over or under committing their personal resources.

GUEST SPEAKER: VANESSA CULLEN

Vanessa Cullen is a vegan Australian representative triathlete, interior architect, award-winning entrepreneur, consultant, speaker, writer and charity ambassador.

By day, Vanessa owns and manages one of the country's leading boutique interior architecture studios, Forward Thinking Design, creating well-known restaurants, retail stores and other commercial premises.

The company's clients - many of which hire Forward Thinking Design to resposition themselves in the market - include Pan Pacific Hotel Group, Kmart Tyre and Auto, and Ticketek,

Vanessa is also the face behind the plant-based health and clean-eating website www.morethanpkd.com - a social enterprise she created to empower people to take control of their own health and to reach their full potential.
